I will have to make this visit a shori one, but while I am here I have asked the general manager of the Department (Mr. G. W. Clinkard) to bring to my notice all the urgent matters that circumstances have eaused delay in considering. This is my first official visit, and I want to see as much as I can now. There will be, of course, some matters that I shall have to reserve for a further visit when we get more on the edge of the season. I understand also that there are several requirements the Mayor and the members for the disu\et wish to bring before me, and so I anticipate my time will be very crowded while I am in the town." "It isn't possible," he remarked, "for one not to liear the attractions of Rotorua voiced by persons who have visited it for the place has charms which cannot be forgot•cen.
