Ferens, sceretary of the Dunedin Returned Soldiers' Association, who paid a visn; to the institution recently. Mr. Ferens was most entlmsiastic about the wo"k being carried out, and said an unique oppo? tunit;* was beir.g provided for the boys in residenee there to learn all branehes of farming. The boys reeeive a thorough grounding in all branehes of farming, and Mr. Ferens was greatly impresseu with tlie metho-is employed. The boys di.-pbty a keen inteivst in their work, he said, and they all lork surprisingly tit and well. Ev u-y care is taken ox the lads, who in the house are under the charge of a capable matron who saw -ervice during tiie war. The boys take a turn in the laundry. in the kiiehen, and in ketping the house cle.-n. "They are taught to work," said Mr. Ferens, "and it is doirg them a world of good. No difficulty is experie.nced in placirg boys from Flock House, who are much in dernand. Farmers who have employed trainces speak highly of tliem."
