AMAZING FRAUDS • CHECK REVEALS LARGE SUMS IMPROPERLY OBTAINED CROWD BECOMES VIOLENT

SYDNEY, Saturday. Amazing dole impositions were disclosed as a result of a generjil ,,fest.. check call made hy the Department of Lahour in the Metropolitan and South Coast district. Inquiries revealed that food relief had been obtained improperly-at the rate of £160,000 per annum. Ne'arly 6000 failed to call, indicating that there were at least this number of persons ohtaining.dole relief hy dis honest means. About 90,000 dole recipients raptieipated in the general chech. A crowd at Circular Quay, encouraged by Communists, broke down the barriers in an effort to duplicate their cards. The police arrested one mhn with four duplicate cards in his rossession. At Port Kembla more than 33 per cent. of those receiving relief" hje reported to be impositions.
