IN NEIGHBOUR'S GARDEN. A dispute over a rubber tennis ball evhich was said to have been accidentally kicked by a five-year7old boy into a neighbour's garden was heard L'ecently at Southend County Court, England. William Percy Clark, of Tennyson Avenue, Prittlewell, sued Thomas Bowler for ls, the value of the ball. "I am here," he said, "to claim my .egal rights. After Bowler had refused to give the ball up, I telephon3d to the police station and a constable vas sent, out he still declined to sur:ender it." Producing a suitacse with a num3er of balls, Bowler said that children continually kicked them into his jarden. Four children had claimed ;he one which Clark said was owned )y his boy. The Registrar dsimissed ;he claim on the ground that Clark lad not proved that Bowler had a jall belonging to the boy.
