AN ACCOMPLISHED THIEF

SIX-YEAR-OLD BOY. A boy of nine named Burton, who was alleged to have been caught stealing a bicycle and was charged at the Guidhall, London, recently, with wandering, was stated to have been an acomplished thief from the age of six. An L.C.C. oflicer said that while the boy was at Blackstock Road, Holloway, there were reports day after day of his thefts. Other incidents in his record were: He stopped and robbed another child. Several times absconded from Dr. Barnardo's h'omes. While at the Jersey branch of the homes engineered a sort of mutiny and left the place, taking 20 other boys with him. Led other boys astray. Was vile-tempered and used atrocious language. The boy was sent to a remand home while efforts are made to get him into a mental institution.
