THE WEATHER
The Government meteorologist iasued the following weather report and forecast last night: — General situation: Pressure is decreasing over the New Zealand area, but is still considerably lower to the east than to the west. Forecast: Winds southerly to southwesterly still prevailing, moderate to fresh, but decreasing. Weather: Still some scattered showers on parts of the East Coast south of the East Cape, and in the extreme north and south, elsewhere fair to fine; cold nights and severe frosts. Following are tne barometer, maxTmum and minimum thermometer, ahd/' rainfall readings recorded at the Goy' ernment Observation Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department,, for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday : — Barometer 29.852ins. _ Thermometer (max.) 53.0deg. Thermometer (min.) 34.8deg. Thermometer (min. on grass) 25.5deg. Rainfall Nsl Bright Sunshine 6.8hrs.
