THE WEATHER
The Government meteorologist iasued the folfowing weather report and forecast last night:— General situation: An intense anticyclone still covers New Zealand; slight disturbances are passing to • both the north and south. Forecast: Winds, strong easterlie's in the far north, and fresh northerlies in the-far south, otherwise light to moderate and variable winds. Weather: Fine in must districts, but some ^showers - in the northern and southern extremities; temperatures cool with many frosts. Following are tne barometer, maxlmum and minimum thermometer, and rainfall readings recorded at .the Government Observation Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department, for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday: — Barometer 30.384ins. Thermometer (max.) 56.1deg. Thermometer (min.) 27.9deg. Thermometer (min. on grass) 22.2deg. ^ Rainfall Nil Bright Sunshine 8.4hrs.
