A SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING ELECTS PERMANENT OFFICERS NEW RULES ADOPTED There was an a'ttendance of 45 raenibers at the special m'seting of the Rotorua and Bay of Plenty Hunt Club held in the Gitizens Club rooms on Saturday evening. The master, Dr. Bertram, presided and 'extended a wslcome to members, especially those who had travelled long distances to be present. He explained that the main business of the meeting was the consideration of drafting rulesf and the the election of permaneiit officers for ' the year. Th'e various p'hases of the rules were freely discussed and a formal resolution passed adopting the draft for submission to the registrar of Incorporated Societies, i The election of officers resulted as f ollows : — President, Dr. H. Affiliation Granted The chair explained that a recommendation from the oUtgoing provisional 'executive was, "that this' committee recommends to the g-eneral i meeting that formal application for affiliation to the New Zealand Hunts Association be now made with the request for boundaries as defined on the plan exhibited, and that application . be made to the Waikato and Pakuranga Hunt Club to propose and second th'e nomination." The secretary explained the procedure adopted to date and the fortunate opportunity that had presented itself in being admitted rapresentaton to the New Zealand Hunts Association meeting, Mr Crawford Watson had very kindly represented the club there and the result of such had been that advice had now come to hand from Mr Watson per telegraph which read as follows. "Hunt affiliation accepted subject ratification by Waikato boundaries also endorsement, Pakuranga." General satisfaction was expressed by members at th'e progress made and on the recommendation by the outgoing committee being put to the meeting on the proposal of Mr. Jackson, seconded by Mr. Vercoe, it was carried unanimously. The chairman proposed "that a hearty vote of thanks be extended to Mr Watson for his kindly action on behalf of the club" seconded by Mr Meredith and carried. Bank Account It was resolved "that the officers to operate on the bank account be the same in personnel as had officiated in the past, namely, the president and secretary."
Hunt Meet Dates General diseussion took place re hunt meet dates for the remaining portion of the season and after diseussion it was resolved "to leave the matter in the hands of the incoming committee to decide and arrange as an equitable adjustment as possible." New Members On the motion of the chair, seconded by Mr. Jackson and carried, new. members (all being from the Whakatane Ward) were declared duly elected: — Messrs J. Morice, R. R. Gordon^ O. Gordon. Thanks Extended Mr. A. V. P. Ford proposed "that the meeting record a h'earty vote of thanks to all outgoing officers ( especially mentioning the huntsman and whips) and to all owners of property hunted over, seconded by Mr. Ryan and carried by acclamation.
