Rec. July 17, 5.5 p.m. LOS ANGELES, Saturday. The Australian swimmer is improving, .but the soreness in Charlton's arm and shoulder is still in evidence. The New Zealand rowers and athletes worked out to-day. Miss Kench practlsed starting, but is still slow off the mark. Foubister, the New Zealand cyclist, in training has been over the Olympic course, recording time which compared favourably with the record for the course.
