EIGHT-WHEELED CAR

GREATER SAFETY ASSURED. An eight-wheeled motor-car, recently demonstrated in Berlin, is said to perform with exceptional smoothness. It was reported that better balance was obtained by supporting the weight of the car at eight points rather than at four, as is the cass with the normal type of car. The fact that eight tyres are necessary should not be held against it, the designers say, because eaeb tyre bears only half the load it would have to carry on the ordinary car, and therefore the wear and tear is redueed in proportion. It is claimed that the eight-whesled car can be operated with greater safety because quick stops are assured by greater braking surface.
