AUCKLAND, Thursday. "You have caught me fair. I'll come clean!" This was what Frederick John Murray, aged 19, told Constable Agnew when he was chased and caught after j committing a robbery at the Rob Roy Hotel, Freeman's Bay, about 2 o'clock i in the morning on July 6. When Murray, a tailor by occupa- j tion, appeared at the Police Court this morning, a complete kit of house- ; breaking instruments, all made by himself, was produced. He was charged with breaking and entering the ; Rob Roy Hotel by night and stealing a gold wristlet watch, torch, pair of scissors and 8/- in nioney, of a 1 total value of £5 19/-, the property ' of Charles A. Pelley. He was fur- j ther charged with being fonnd by j night, without lawful excuse, in pos- I session of housebreaking instru- 1 ments. !' Murray pleaded guilty and was j committed to the Supreme Court for ! sentence.
