— By Telegraph — Copyright).

Rec. July 14, 8.10 p.m. SYDNEY, Thursday. Seventy delegates of the United Country Party are holding a conference in Sydney, discussing a tentative seheme for the subdivision of New South Wales into three almost equal nnions. Th'e northern states begin at the border of Queensland and end at the beginning of the Port of Newcastle, the federal states begin, at Newcastle and include Broken Hill and Sydney and end above Wollongong, and the south ern states comprise Wollongong and extend south to the Victorian border. Senator Hardie said an intensive campaign would be conducted during the ensuing twelve months, favouring the creation of the new federal union. Dr. Page urged that the subdivisiop would be the best, not only for New i Sonth Wales, hut also for Australia. There must be a substantial hackine-

from Sydney. No attempt must he made to isolate the industrial centre, h'e said. They could not have one plague spot in Australia without it affecting the rest.
