Ngongotaha v. H.S.O.S. This was the first game played on the Association's new court, consequantly players found th suerface soft and strange to play on, after the hard, well-worn surface of the old court. On aecount of this, it was unfortunate that a few slightly ricked ankles were sustained, thus causing the game to be rather slow. With' use, however, this ground will soon improve. High Sehool A again registered a win, defeating Ngongotaha by 20 goals to 12. Definite team work by the victors gave ! Ngongotaha few chances to shine, the { High Sehool defence giving the for- | wards scant opportunity for easy j shots at goal. Although Ngongotaha had a fair share of the. ball, it was unable to finish off by scoring. Referee, Mrs. Walker. H.S.O.S. "B" v. KiAvi. The Kiwi team is still handicapped by having eight players only. It is \ improving every week and it was very noticeable that their new defender, A. Hill, has strengthened the defence considerably. llf the other two defenders would work just a little harder they would make a good combination. Kiwi's centre forward, P. Trislc, played a fast game and although of small stature, intercepted splendidly. High Sehool B played a very solid game to win by 24 goals to 4.
Mrs. Shearer was the referee. Brilliant Form. Waratah continued to show their brilliant form last Saturday and defeated Kowhai by 19 goals to 9. The game was well played throughout, both teams combining excellent passing with quick interceptions. Kowhai's centre line played well, but found its biggest haridicap in the extra reach and size of its opponents. In spdte of this, Kowhai always endeavoured to open the play and showed good finish m many passing movements. Quick passing kept both teams on the move, Put Waratah's forwards were shooting most accurately ana their combinacion was a little too strong for Kowhai's defence. Mrs. Guy was the referee. WEDNESDAY CLUBS. Play last week at the Government grounds showed a decided improvement, but some teams still show the lack of weekly practice. Although Konini beat Tui by 16 goals to 6, th§ latter team have some good material and with little more experience should develop into a good team. Vera Butler proved a fast forward for Kiwi and was responsible for most of her team's points. Waratah v. Ngaio. The Waratah-Ngaio game was very one-sided. Ngaio's form has fallen very considerably in recent matches. Far from having limited opp-ortunities, Ngaio had an unsually good supply of the ball, but eft'orts to use this service to the best advantage were futile. Score: Waratah, 26; Ngaio, 3. Result: Konini, 16; v. Tui, 6. Waratah, 26; v. Ngaio, 3. Kowhai, 15. v. High Sehool B, 10. High Sehool A, 23; v. Mokoia, '7. NOTES. Punctuality. Teams advertised to start at 2 p.rn. sharp are still strolling up ten to fifteen minutes late. This is not fair to the referee or teams starting later. It means that their players must unnecessarily wait around in the cold until the first game is over. This is by no means the first time that an appeal has been made to latecomers, and if the offenders still continue to come late, referees should decide to hand the matter over to the executive committee to deal with. Representative Trials. The following players are requested to remain after the games to-morrow: J. Isdale, B. Vaughan, B. Newmarch, F. Bates, V. Hale, J. Prentice, K. Kingon, S. Marcroft, Q. Mau, E. Hardie, D. Emeny, M. Oweps, D. Davies, B. Dorsett, H. Dawson, M. Ford, 1^. Rushton, B. Johnson, N. Devin, B. Chambers, D. Cronin, N. Berge.
