THE WEATHER
The Government meteorologist losued the following weather report and fcrrecast fast riighti — General situation: Pressure is lower over th'e whole of the New Zealand area; cyclones have been located to the north of the Bay of Plenty and the Chatham Islands respectively, and a secondary one has been located west of Farewell Spit. Forecast: Winds, strong southerlies of gale force in places, but gradually improving. Weather: Co'ld and changeahle with showers in most districts; snow on the ranges and hail on parts of the East Co'ast, mainly fair, however, in the western districts. Following are tne barometer, maximum ?.hd minimum thermometer, and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observation Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department, for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday: — Barometer 29.214ins. Thermometer (max.) 50.7deg. Thermometer (min.) 40.6deg. Thermometer (min. on grass) 42.3den. Rai'nfall 0.69ins. - Bright Sunshine 0.1hrs.
