DOG'S FUNERAL
YAULT COST £200. O Mr. Frank Callaghan, a wealthy sporteman, of Tiffin, Ohie,. reently ordered that his favourite Pomeranian, , Baby Ginter, should be given the "best funeral a dog ever had." His pet lay in state in a bronze casket costing £80, which was originally designed for a child, and workmen built, at a cost of £200, a vault and monument in tbe garden, under the shadow of a tree that was th'e dog's favourite sp-ot for sleeping in hot weather. Mr. Gallaghan, who spent hoiirs silently weeping hy the side of the casket, will have carved in stone fa tribute "to my greatest friend." Several minister of religion who were asked to conduct the funeral service declined, and a verterinary surgeon, Dr. C. E. Shipman, ofiiciated at the last rites. Hilhdreds of floral tributes were received, and such swarms of visitors came to the house to see the preparations made for tbe dog's funeral that special police' had to he postdd nearhy to handle traffic hlocks.
