FORTUNE CUP COMPETITION WHAKATANE, Monday. On Saturday last the qualifying round for the Fortune Cup competition was played under ideal golf conditions and the names of the six teen who qualified for the play off are as follows: — Napier: 79—12—67; Allan 88—19— 62; Powdrell 82 — 13 — 69; Harrison* 89—19—70; Pirini 89—18—71; Stubbs 93 — 21 — 72. Campbell 93 — 20 — 73; E. B. Bridger 87 — 14 — 73; Steel 89 — 15 —74; Baker 90—16—74; W. M. Clark 94 — 19 — 7S-; S. H. Tippett 100 — 25 — 75; Simmonds 89 — 13 — 76; L. Rangi 97—20—77; J. G. McCulloch 93—15 — 78; Beckett 96 — 18 — 78. The first round for the Fortune Cup match play is timed for Wednesday and Saturday next. The following is the draw for play: Allan v. Simmonds, J. G. McCulloch v. Pirini; L. Rangi v. Campbell; Beckett v. Tippett. Stubbs V. Powdrell; Harrison v. Napier; Baker v. Steel, W. M. Clark v. E. Bridg'er.
