SIXTH. ATTEMPT TO DERAIL EXPRESS BY SLEEPERS ON LINE

SYDNEY, Saturday. The sixth attempt sinoe June 13 was made last night to wreck a passenger train in the Taree district. The Sydney to Kempsey train was travelling at 25 miles an hour in h'eavy rain when it crashed into sleepers placed across the lines. The passengers felt a jolt and some jumped from the carriages as the train was brought to a standstill. The authorities have now placed a day and night patrol on the line, and drivers have been ordered to travel at greatly reduced speed.
