GERMAN AND FRENCH SUCCEED IN RECONCILING THEIR VIEWS GUILT AND COMPENSATION
— By Telegrapli— Copyright).
LONDON, Friday. The British United Press representative at Lausanne nnderstands that an agreement between France and Germany was reached on the war guilt clause and that a final plenary session of th'e conference will he held either on Friday or Saturday. The Times Lausanne correspondent however, says that a "deadlock without qualification" is the only description of th'e situation after to-day's negotiations. Not an inch of progress was made at the conferences held. The hesitations and indeeisions within a stone's throw of a settlement were almost incredibla. Earlier dispatches stated that in spite of the unpromising adjournment of the negotiations at Lausanne last night the latest reports forecast that an agreement was probable in a few hours to-day.
