Satisfactory arrangements having been made with the Commomvealth Bank for financial accommodation up to £20,000,000, the Premiers' Conference has concluded its deliberations, after pledging that bugdet deficits next year will he reduced to £9,000,000 by further drastic economies. The Commonwealth Bank agreed to advance £7,000,000 forthwith for allocation to various states for public works for the absorption of the unemployed, £5,000,000 next year and £3,000,000 the following year, when it is hoped eonditions will have improve d. Committees will be set up in each State to control the work.
