"TOSSED THE BABY"
palmer says stribling most terrific puncher. SYDNEY, Thursday. Ambrose Palmer and "Young" Stribling both state they will not meet again. Palmer says: "Stribling tossed me about like a baby. I knew from the first punch that his weight and strength would master me. Stribling is the most terrific puncher I ever met. My neck feels dead and my kidneys raw." Stribling says: "I always thought Palmer was a bigger and heavier man. I was honestly surprised when i saw him stripped. Palmer is the hardest man I ever met to hit with the right. Palmer compares more than favourably with the best fighters in America at his weight." All the newspapers agree that Palmer was no match for Stribling. The most that can be said for Palmer is that he was extremely game. Stribling complained of the referee's methods which he said hampered him. He was afraid to cut loose when he was in close for fear of doing something illegal according to the local rules.
