MEN AWAITING OUTCOME OF CONFERENCE IN WELLINGTON FARMERS MAY WORK MINES

HAMILTON, Thursday. Np developments ocpurred at Huntly to-day, and the ipines in the district are still idle. The miners are awa'iting the outcome of the conference called by the Government, and there is not much likelihood of any news until after the conference. Two lorry loads of camping equipment have been transported to near the Renown mine, and accomodation for 100 men erected. It is not definitely known who will occupy the tents, though it is rumoured that farmers and others requiring coal will work the mines. The township is very quiet and there is no sign of trouble.
