BOY SCOUTS
ROTORUA NO 1 TROOP. The usual weekly parade of the Rotorua No. 1 troop of Boy Scouts was held at headquarters on Friday night, when 47 boys were present nnder Scoutmaster T. C. Hawkins, Further advance was made in first-class work, and 26 boys passed D grade in the test. The remainder continued in first aid under patrolleader L. Southwick. Several boys were away sick. A warm welcome was given to ex-troop-leader A. Polglase, who was at the parade. Alf is now working at Matamata, and is home for his holidays. Watch for the Scouts' Clotbes Drive — kindly look out your old clothes. "Be prepared" is the Scout motto. The following are the local orders issued by Scoutmaster T. C. Hawkins for the week ending July 8th. On duty: Troop-leader J. Alexander, Patrol-leader L. Southwick. Patrol on duty: "Penguin." Next for duty: "Beaver." Reminder — Patrol-leaders' attention is drawn to orders issued repeatedly re Scouts who are absent from weekly parades without an excuse. Scout Law No. 3. What is it?
