Freedom sect of Doukhobors at pre- ! sent in the Nelson jail, the men and women in the jail to-day started a hunger strike. They refused their breakfast, and ■. maintained they were willing to die. ' The joviality which has persisted throughout their time in jail died away, but they sang hymns. The coolc house was empty and the fires were died at noon. It was' Wedne'sday night that the police sprang a surprise and moved the boys, ranging from seven to 14 years of age, on to a coast-bound train where they will e-nter the industrial home. The hunger strike includes those already sentenced for appearing in the nude and those awaiting trial.
