AFTER TO-MORROW
MINNA GOMBELL'S GREATEST PERFORMANCE ON THE SCREEN. MAJESTIC NEXT SATURDAY. "After to-morrow." Fox Films version of the Jolrn Golden and Hugh Stange Broadway stage success of the same .name opens its engagement next Saturday at the Majestic Theatre. Charles Farre1! and Marian Nixon are to be seen in the leading roles of the picture. Their marriage is constantly frustrated by the opposition of their sentimental and selfish mothers. Rather than to go against their parent's wishes, they seek emotional relief in a blind trust in the future, that "After To-morrow," life promises to be bright. Minna Gombell, as the mother of Miss Nixon is said to give the greatest performance of her screen career, in a characterization that calls for her to deny love for her own daughter, a performance which even surpasses her unforgettable -'Edna' in "Bad Girl." This conflict arises from the fact that she is married to a weak and ineffectual husband, played by William Oollier, Snr., who has never been able to supply her with the pretties demanded by her vanity. As Farrell's mother, Josephine
Hull brings to the film drama the same role she created on the New York stage. Her deft impersonation of the comical, yet sometimes pitiable little Ma Piper, is reported as lending much of the human appeal and mirthful qualities which "After Tomorrow" possesses. In the other important roles are William Pawley, Ferdinand Munier and Nora Lane.
