VIENNESE NIGHTS

GLAMOUR OF OLD VIENNA TOLD IN STORY AND SONG. AT THE MAJESTIC ON MONDAY. "Viennese Nights" which ope-ns at the Majestic on Monday next is the ereation of Sigmund Rombery aiid Oscar Hammerstein, the two who have created more glamorous and melodious entertainment than any living collab orators. The story is of exquisite tenderness, the theme being the deathlessness of beauty. The settings are gorgeous, being all in natural colours. The glamour of old Vienna, told so often in story and song, is caught with stirring vitality. Marching troups, gay ladies, street gamins, stout burghers, ample fraus; all seen in the flickering golaen light, of leaves blowing, horses bearing,aneient vehicle crowded with gay roysterers, all are there. But this is but the beginning of the haunting story of love and renunciation. The action covers a period of fifty years and. some of the scenes are in New York, shifting back to Vienna for the thrilling and unexpeeted climax. The story is built about the fate of a girl who falls in love with a poor musician, but is forced to marry a rich officer, by her ambitious father. Through poverty and exile the poor man works
