CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. William Tlxomas Lindsay, county elerk in tlxe Waipara County, north xf Christchurch, was arrested to-day xn charges conxxected with the Electoral Act. This is a sequel to the recent magisterial inquiry into the election in two ridings in the county, after which the poll was upset, is being stated by the magistrate that sex'ious irregularities had been disclosed. Accused was arrested by Detective Sergeant O'Brien and brought hefore justices at Waikari charged with forgex'y under the Electoral Act. He was remanded to appear at Christchurch on July 8. Bpxl was allowed in a recognaisance of £250 and a surety of £250.
