CHANGING THE GOAT
1 ATTEMPT AT BLACE MAGIC ON MOUNTAIN TOP UNSUCCESSFUL, LONDON, June 18. The black magic attempt on the Broken Mountain to turn a goat into a beautiful youth failsd to-night, the only result being to seriously frighten the goat. -Professor Bohn for 40 minutes braved the bitter cold w'ind, amid clouds of pungent smoke from the ring of torches. ■The frightened goat tremblingly triad to bury itself in Bohn's thin vvhite robe. Mr. Price, in evening dress, directed the operations. The magic ring was floodlit from the top of the mountain. They Roared. The whols ritual was strictly followed. Bohn led the goat to the centre of"the ring, anointed it with ointment worth 12s 6d, and poured a jug of red wine over it, in total darkness. Then he ordered the goat to be covered with a sheet. Price counted 10, and then Bohn whisked away the sheet, but there was no youth of surpassing beauty — just the goat, now thoroughly frightened. It leapt in the air, and, if it had been trained for the part, it couldn't have done better. Everyone roared with laughter.
