FAREWELL DANCE
O.D.H.S. OLD PUPILS MAKE PRESENTATION TO MR. . • E. "N. WEBB. ;/ • A gala night was held by the O.D. H.S. old pupils last Saturday to farewell Mr. E. N. Webb (president of the O.P. Association). The room was brightly decorated with balloons and coloured papers. Every dancer wore a paper hat while streamers and conf etti added to the fun of the evening. During the evening, Mr. AflShaw (chairman of the O.P. Association), in a brief speech, mentioned the valuable work done by Mr. Webb in"hlelping the association." He then vas'hed Mr. Webb the best of . luck in his new home and on behalf of the old pupils presented him with a 'tfavelling *rug. On behalf of the "O.D.H.S. Old Pupil's Football Club, Mr. L. Kelly , (captain of the team) wished Mr. Webb success in the future and asked bim to acqept a little token from tjie club. The presehtation, however, tpok the form of a very useful f ountain pen and an ever-sharp pencil. Mr. Webb suitably replied. . ' / ; Among the ladies .present were:- — Misses J . Jennings, jumper suit; .E. Jeffries, jumper suit; C. Payne, lemon satin; D. Payne, orange georgette and lace; L. Bennett, floral taffetas; L. Hartshorne, pink satin beaute; B. Ensoll, floral georgette; J. Lovell, red' georgette; A. Parkinson, red. frilled georgette; F. Abbott, black lace and net; K. Jephson, pink satin and net; N. Clark, pink taffetas and lace; L. Cave, embroidered green georgette; E. Smith, floral georgette; I. Kelly, "floral taffetas; V. Campbell, floral taffetas; D. Patterson, jumper suit; G. Stevenson, blue frilled georgette (Auckland); J. Kirkbride, blue floral crepe dechine; E. Kirkbride, green taffetas and gold lace; Mesdames T. O'Sullivan, black georgette; E. Seville, broderie Anglaise; G. Vanstone, black georgette and lace; Rennett, broderie Anglaise. A spot-light dance was won by Miss M. Hutt and Mr. J. Connelly (Whakatane). The evening concluded with the singing of "Auld Lang Syne." ™
