HUNT CLUB
TE PUKE BRANCH DISCUSSES ORGANISATION IN DISTRICT. . THE FINANCIAL POSITION. The Te Puke branch of the Rotorua and Bay of Plenty Hunt Club met last Monday evening, reports the Te Puke Times. The secretary report'ed that the cost of running the Paengaroa Hunt was £3 17s 6d, and of the Papamoa Hunt £5 16s 3d. Against the latter there was a return of £3 14s 6d from the social, leaving a deficit of £2 ls 9d, or a total deficit of £5 19s 3d. The total amount of subscriptions collected locally was £34 5s. It was possible that some of the subscriptions had been sent to Rotorua as the notices had been sent from Rotorua. He further stated that he thought the local subscriptions due should be paid to the local branch, and that a separate banking account should be kept in Te Puke. The chairman said it was intended to hold, at a later date, the social at Paengaroa that was postponed from the day of the hunt. The local club was responsible to Rotorua for £50. The secretary was instructed to send accounts out to local members whose subscriptions are outstanding, also that a banking account he opened at Te Puke, and that after liabilities are paid the balance to be forwarded to Rotorua; also that the Rotorua branch be aslceS to send necessary stationery to the Te Puke secretary. Inquiries will also be made from Rotorua asldng what amounts will be granted to branches for hunt expenses. Meet Each Month. The chairman (Mr. I. Vercoe) stated that the Rotorua Hunt had 120 members and a credit balance from last season of £40, besides the kennels and hounds. Tauranga had 40 members, Te Puke 50, and Whakatane 60, or a total of 270 at £1. The cost of feeding the hounds, etc., was estimated at £150, which would leave a balance of £120. He stated that he thought both Papamoa and Paengaroa should have more than two meets each in the season, and considered that it should be a reeommendation to the delegates to the conference to be held at Rotorua, that they should urge that a meet be held at each of these places once in each month. The recommendation was approved. Mr. Vercoe asked to he relieved of the position of deputy master as he thought it would he better to have a younger man, but by the unanimous wish of members he will continue in office. An active canvass for new members is to be undertaken.
