The Governmsnt meteorologist issued the followjng weather report and ferecast Iast night: — General situation; An anti-cyclone covers the greater part of Australia, and extends over Tasman Sea to New Zealand; a slight low pressure wave i is passing in the far south to-day. Forecast: Winds moderate and variable, but later southerlies agai'n prevailing. Weather: Fair to cioudy for the most part; showers may be expected i in the western and far southern districts and along the east coasts of the South Island. Following are the barometer, maximum a'nd minimum thermometer, and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observation Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department, for . the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterdayi — Barometer 30.166ins.
