AFTERNOON CLUB. A play that was produced with great ! ; success last year by the Little Theatre ' j Society was chosen for the afternoon ( j circle of the Rotorua Women's Club, ! I who met at the home of Miss M. | | Mactier in Haupapa Street last Tues- i day afternoon. The play read was Clemenee Dane's "A Bill of Divorcement," a splendid drama in three acts, and it is upon this play that her famc as a play wright is chiefly built. Those present were: — Mrs. Mactier, Mrs. N. M. Keane, Mrs. E. Johnson, | Mrs. H. Bertram, Mrs. H. Davis, Mrs. j A. Brown, Mrs. Stewart, Miss J. Pearce, Miss G. La Trobe Hill, Miss J. Berti-am, Miss H. Ford and Miss J. Hodgson.
"A Bird in Hand," by John Drinlcwater, was read by the evening circle of the Women's Club at the home of Mrs. C. Rowley last Friday. evening. The hostess received her guests wearing shell pink apricot crepe de chine. ! Those present were Mesdames D. j Ford, A. C. Randerson, Fraer, Stew- j art, Misses Robinson, Hitchens, E. | Sharpe, and D. Hamilton.
