BRITISH DERBY
LARGE LONDON AUDIENCE SEE RACE BY TELEVISION. LONDON, June 1. Flickering blaclc and white images which dimly resolved themselves into galloping horses proved the success of British television experiments when the Derby was shown on the screen of the London cinema simultaneously with the race at Epsom. It is the first time the Derby has been "televised." . The experimenter is satisfied with his 7ft screen pictures which were flashed from a caravan on The Downs, where six eables had been laid under the course. A large mirror drum, containing 30 revolving mirrors, caught the action of the horses which a London audience, numbering 2000, saw in a darkened theatre.
