CLOUHING FIRM SU^S FOKKER CORPORATION FOR DEBT RECENT ATDANTIC FLIGHT
— :By Telegraph — Cnpyrlght).
UEW YORK, Wednesday. The trial has begun in the City Coiirt of a suit to rccover 1229 dollars from the Fokker Aircraft Corporation by Messrs Abercomhie and Fitch, clothiers, on the plea tliat they equipped Sir Charles Kingsford Smith and his crew witli a quantity of tooth bruslies, razors and combs following their successful transAtlantic flight in June 1930. It was reyealed that the Fokker Corporation backed the flight to the 'extent of £1000 but the Aircraft Corporation denies that it authorised the purchase of the personal equipment. Sir Charles Kingsford Smith, in an interview in Sydney, told the Sun that the New York Times arranged with Messrs Abercomhie and Fitch to supply the crew with new civilian outfits on the completion of the flight. Messrs Abereombie and Fitch agreed to do so on the understanding that the airmen handed over their flying kits to ■exhxbit in the firm's windows, and this was done.
