THE WEATHER
The Government meteorologist lasued the following weather report and forecast last night: — General situation: A wide depression is passing to the south, but pressure has risen in south-western Australia. Forecast: Winds, moderate to strong westerlies, backing later to soufherlies and freshening. Weather: Becoming cold and squally with showers at times; snow on the. ranges and haii on pgrts of the coast. Following are the barometer, maxTmum and minimum thermometer, and rainfall readinga recorded at the Government Observation Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department, for the 24 hours erided at 9.30 a.m. yesterday*>— Barometer 29.715ins. Thermometer (max.) 53.6deg. Thermometer (min. on grass) 43.2de9 Rainfall 0.5tins.
