AUCKLAND, Friday. In the 'Great Northern Hurdles race run at Ellerslie on June 3, Mr. J. J. Con-y's Landmark and Make Up finislied first and second, and Messx-s 'E. Foreman's Full Mark was third. q A protest has now; been received by the Auckland Raeing Glub against Corry's horses having heen qllp|y'e^ fo run in the race. A Supreme Cqur| action was brought hy Corry in" regard to the ownership of Croupier^'who raeed in his colours last seasdn, *)xut in August last a partnership vyas.registered in Croupier as betwegn . Jfr. Corry and Messrs John and' James Peterson, of Auckland. His Hoixour, Mr Justice Herdman found that the horse was owned hy Messrs Paterson, and it is in consequence of this djecision that Messrs Foreman are appealing. They. wish to test the eligih'ility of Corry's horses to take part in the race, in view of the Supreme Court action. The stakes have beaix paid over to Mr. Corry, but the Auckland Raeing Club will consider the protest shortly.
