HAMILTON, Friday. "Europe will have to go bankrupt then America will clear off the war debts and Europe will have a chance to recover." So stated Mr. W. Goodfellow, managing director of the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company, speaking at the annual meeting of the Finance Corporation of New Zealand, Limited, in Hamilton, to-day. After pointing out that the profits of the Corporation were solely dependent on the price of butterfat, Mr Goodfellow mentioned that New 2iealand's prosperity was largely hound, up with the war debts question. Qnce Europe had recovered, many of tlie. goods now fiooding the English market would he divei'ted ahd New ZeaLnd's primary products would receive a chance again. "I am not a pessimist; I think the immediate future is bad and may be worse before it is bettei*, but within two years there should he a turn for the better," he added.
