Rec. June 24, 7.35 p.m. SYDNEY, Friday. In the Legislative Assembly, the Premier, Mr. B. S. Stevens, answering the Labonr member, Mr. II. Knig'ht, said that the Government was now giving close consideration to the police report concerning the activities of the New Guard, and its recommendation that several 'prominenl Ntew Guardsmen should he prosecuted for seditious conspiracy. ; Mr. Stevens added that the Government would he guided entirely hy a further report which the Crown Law Office is preparing. There had heen \ no attempt to interfere with the activities of x'esponsible police officers. On the contrary the police had been given unrestricted power to preserve peace and good order.
