LATE RATES RULING FOR YARDINGS YESTERDAY AT WESTFIELD.
AUCKLAND, Wednesday. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report as follows on their Westfield sale held to-day: — Ox beef came forward in more than average numbers and there was a steady demand at late values from 13/- to 19/- per hundred pounds. Prime steers brought £5/10/- to £8. Cows and heifers were" offering in smaller numbers. The better sort were worth 12/- to 18/-, prime cows and heifers, £2/5/- to £4/15/-. Sheep were in average numbers, and priees were firm at late quotations. Prime wethers 10/6 to 14/9, prime ewes 6/6 to 10/-. Lambs were in smaller numbers. Late rates, prime 9/- to 14/6. Calves were dull. Runners brought £1 to £1/16/-, vealers 14/- to £1/10/-, porkers, better sorts £1/3/- to £1/12/-, baconers £1/14/- to £2/12/-.
