HASTINGS, Wednesday, The death is announced of Mr. Wilfred Gatenby Stead, aged 53 years; of Flaxmere, Hastings, farmer and well known race horse owner and breeder. He was the eldest son of the late G. G. Stead. Mr. Stead had been ir indifferent health for twO years, anc for the last two months -had beer confined to bed.' He leaves a widow fotir sons, and one daughter. The 1 deceased gentleman was well knowr in the Rotorua district .where he hac ■extensive property - interests.
