Following the murder of a German I Catholic priest, Father Conrad Papp, allegedly by intoxicated Japanese soldiers in the Chiehtao district, Kirin province, along the Korean b order, British nationals have been advised tb evacuate the territory; owing tb fear of an anti-f oreign uprising. Reports allege that the Japanese I beat the priest Tuiti! he became unI conscious and then dragged him to I a deserted stream bed, where they I shot him, burying the body in the I sand. I Photographs of the corpse reveal I that Father Papp was shot through I the heart and abdonien and was baI yonetted in abont 30 places. I The German legation here has inI structed the German Consul-General 1 at Mulcden to proceed to Chiehtao to I investigate.
