The Governmenl: meteorologist issued the following . weather report and fwecaat last night: — General situation: Another, and probably the last of the present series of deep westsrly depressions is passing to the south to-day; an anticyclone is located over southern Queensland. Forecast: Winds, between westerly and south-westerly, moderate to strong. • Weather: Fine at first in eastern districts, elsewhere changeabie and at times showery, iater showers exj tending along the easter'n districts of the South Island; temperatures cold with many frosts. Following are the barometer, maxlmum a'nd minimum thermometer, and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observation Station by the Rotorua' Tourist Department, for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday: — • Barometer 29.788ins.
