FIRST BIRTHDAY PARTY On Saturday evening the St. gtephen's Girl Guide company celebrated its first birthday by holding a tea in the Parish Hall. The ladies of the Guide Committee, Mesdames Benham (president), Parkinson, Pattle, Russel, and Burton are to be congratulated upon organising a most enjoyable and fitting little function. The two tables were gaily decorated in flowers. and coloured streamers. Patrol Leader Ellen Pattle lit the single candle and the smallest Brownie blew it out. Captain Martin (1st Opotiki Company), two Brownie Leaders and two Waimana Guides were among the guests present. Mrs Benham welcomed the guiders, and the Lady Cub' Master, Miss J. Kelly, thanked the committee and guides on behalf of her assistant. Brownie Leader E. Murray spoke for the 1st Opotiki Company. After the tea, items and games were given.
