THE WEATHER
The Government meteorologist issued the following weather report and forecast last night: — General situation: A series of deep depressions co'ntinue to pass to the south; there are now indications of a cyclone being centred in the northwest Tasman Sea. Forecast: Winds strong westerly, backing to south westerly. Weather: Unsettied and squaliy with rain in most districts, heavy in places temperatures becoming cold with snow on the ranges and also parts of the country of—the southern districts. Following are the barometer, maxtmum a'nd minimum thermometer, and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observation Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department, for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday: — Barometer 29.738ins. Thermometer (max.) 54.9deg. Thermometer (min. on grass) 40.5deg. Rainfall Trace
