SPECTACULAR SIGHT TWO THERMAL BLOWOUTS IN CENTRE OF OHINEMUTU STREET. ROADWAY - SUBSIDES. At half past three on Saturday afternoon an alarming thermal blow-out occurred in the centre of Tuhoukotuku Street, Ohinemutu, and continued for threequarters of an hour, in the middle of a driving rainstorm. Fortunately no person' was injured, ala Maori, Jacob Haimona, had a very close escape itideed, being spatfcered by the hot mud erupted hy the blow-out in its first shot. ' * The scene of the outbreak is in Tuhoukotuku Street, which leads down from Lake House Hotel to the flat grounds of the pa, and is directly opposite the residence of Mr. Bcn Gordon. Close Escape. On account of the very boisterous weather, few people were about at the time, but Haimona was engagcd in letting* some water out of the hangi> or smqll Maori oven, which was previously on the spot.
