CHRIISTCHURCH, Saturday. The first industrial dispute under the amended ' Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act— that relating to ' engineers, moulders and hoilermakers, j has not sueceeded in weathering the I conciliation stage. ( Negotiations between employees and ( cmployers in Wellington yesterday broke down completely, with a result that the aWard coVering the varioUfe sections of the engineering industry will expire- in five weeks' time. A statement to this effect was made by Mr; G. T. Thurston, one of the , three assessors repfesenting the emf ployees in tbe engineering trade throughout New Zealhnd who return- \ -i'd this morning.
