-By Telegtaph — Copyrlght).

SANTIAGO (Chili), Saturday. The Socialist Junta, which Went into power leSs than a fortnight ago, waa overthrown in a brief dramatic counter-revolt to-day. Colonel Marmaduke Grove, the military leader of the Junta since the tary leader in the recent pevolt and head of the Junta since the resignation of Don Carlos Davilla on Sunday, was taken prisoner, together with his associate, Don Eugenio Matte. The counter-revolutionaries comprised army, navy and air force groups and apparently the supporters of Don Davilla, who declared that the Junta had gone over to Communism. They have turned the Government over to a new Junta composed of 'Don Carlos Davilla, Senator Alberto Cabero (a member of the former President Montero's Radical Party), and a former Deputy, Don Molasco Cardenas. The new Junta is sworn to outlaw Communism, but to continue the Socialistic Republic established after the revolt on June 4 along moderate lines friendly to foreign interests. Colonel Grove had announced that he would die before he would surrendel- to the army groups, who beseiged the palace with 18 field guns, but he was finally captured alive.
