RIFLE SHOOTING
MEETING OF ROTORUA CLUB'S MANAGEMENT BODY ALLOCATION OF TROPHIES A meeting of the Management Committee of the Rotorua Miniature Rifle Club was held on Thursday evening when the following were present Chairman Mr. W. Winslade, Messrs Reid, Walker, Whitley, Bates and Miss Ellison. Correspondence from the Opotiki ' and Hamilton Miniature Rifle Clubs, was received, and it was decided that the secretary be instiucted to write these clubs with reference to a postal match to be fired in the near future. Accounts totalling £3 5/2 were passed for payment. The following are the alioeations of trophies for the present series. — A Grade: 1. Mr. Epi Shalfoon's trophy for highest aggregate score off rifle. 2. Highest score off rifle final night of series. 3. Highe«t score with handicap. 4. Second highest score with handicap. B. Grade: 1. Mr. Howden's trophy for highest aggregate score off rifle. 2. Highest score off rifle final night of series. 3. Highest score with handicap. 4. Second highest score with handicap. It was moved by Mr. Reid, seeonded by Mr. Whitley that a competitor in B Grade making over 61 twice in succession off the rifle be transferred to A Grade at the end of the series. It was decided that two compulsory sighters as now fired be optional and that a competitor have the right to take both sighters, or the second, but not the first without the second. It was moved by Mr. Walker seconded by Mr. Reid that no competitor may use a rifle with a trigger pull below three pounds. as stipulated by the New Zealand Miniature Rifle Association rules. Rifles will be tested on Monday, June 26. Tjae secretary reported that there are now 16 financial members.
