Times are hard and money "tight." Yet judging by the numbers of pipes and cigarettes in evidence when one is out and about, the demand for tobacco is as keenas ever — probably keener — as the tobacconists will tell you, and they ought to know. Well that is not very surprising for at a time lilce this most of us need something to soothe and comfort us, and help us to "grin and bear it"; and it is safe to say that four men out or five would sooner "cut out" anytliing rather than their tobaeco. Fortunately there are some excellent brands available which are quite moderately priced, and just what you need while waiting for the clouds to roll by. These inelude the famous tobaceos of the National Tobacco Company, which (unlihe some of the imported brands), are remarkably free from nicotine, and as fragrant as they are innocuous. Four brands only remember: Riverhead Oold, Cavendish, Navy Cut No. 3 and Cut Plug No. 10. ] musta'f let f cMMisBi ailmesits Sg piall them. dewn l Give the yoimgsters ; Lane,s Emulsion ! 1 % The child brought up on $ Lane's rarely falls a victim to $ measles, whooping cough j§ and similar schooiday epidemics. £ This great body-buildcr has been jp the salvation of thoosands of children, g Lane's Emulsion is very easily (1 digested by the youngest child. m Specially recommcndcd for con- [I valcscents and for nuistng and |f expectant mothers. || ia/6 and 476 at all Chemists and Stores. f| Tai\e^pM JL 4 MAIL ORDF.R ICHEMIST LADIES AND GENTLEMEN WE sell every well known brand of CORRECTIVE PILL — but only recommend No. 2 EXTRA STRQNG (Price 12s 6d) and the No. 2 EXTRA STRONG SPECIAL FORM0LA (Price 20s) Write for our Catalogue of Toilet and other Goods.
