MATCH TWO DAYS BEFORE TEST NOT THOUGHT ADVISABLE

WELLINGTON, Thursday. The opinion that it is aslcing too much of the New Zealand Rugby tcam to play a match two days before the test in Australia, was expressed at a meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Union management committee, when a request was received from Australia that the touring team's itinerary could he further araendcd to allow of a match at Ipswich. After some discussion, it was decided to reply pointing out that in view of the test on Saturday, the New Zealand Union management committee decided that the match at Ipswich shontd he played on Tuesday, July 12, or the following day. The manager of the team, Mr W. Wallace, was given the authority to take further action in regard to the request if he deemed it advisable without unduly affecting the team.
