THE PROHIBITION ISSUE
-By Telegrsph — Copyright).
CHICAGO, Wednesday. After the dinner honr, the Resolution Committee of the Republican Convention announced that a public platform would include the controversial prohibition plank, which will be opposed by a wide force. A special popular convention will permit each State to handle the linuor question as it desires, the FedStates against liquor- enfiltration from the outside. The platform expresses opposition to currency inflation and advocates an international conference of silver and the extension of further tariffs to primary products. It recomnlends American entrance to the world courts and expressed the hope that the Geneva conference will effect a general limitation of arms; it also advocates strong measures against crime, especially against kidnapping and racketeering. Unofficial dry organisations declare they were dissatisfied with prohibition, but will reserve action until after the Democratic convention.
